Bloopers in Hyderabad

Hyderabad is one of the most sorted city in engineering, but several blunders that have come up in the city in the last 2-3 years build by the Municipal Corporation may just give most of us a reason to wonder why?
Certain obstructions have come up in the way of construction of PVNR expressway earlier which was thrown open to the public couple of months ago. The municipal authorities realized that the foot over bridge (Mehdipatnam) hardly a year old comes in the way. So the Rs1cr project was brought down.
The government is nothing to loose in it, what goes for them? Its public money anyway. Civil engineering cannot even plan better handling such a big project.
There are around 7 sky foot over's constructed in Hyderabad by the GHMC in last couple of years with budget of RS7cr, five of those will have to be brought down because it would obstruct the metro rail line would probably will be laid soon. For instance, many of us could have observed opposite to exhibition grounds the road connecting Mj market and Nampally, there was a foot over bridge under construction but was soon discontinued just after its columns were laid. Also now the columns seem to be disappeared.  Authorities admit that it was due to lack of co ordination and planning.
Foot over which connects the right left of Begumpet area gives an empty look even during the peak hours. Pedestrians say that the point where is it built is hardly used to cross the road, same as the case with the bridge which is a km away from it.
So why aren’t we authorized to raise questions about these issues where public wealth is wasted off???

MUSI........

River musi tributary of Krishna River which stands high for bringing up Hyderabad from some to one was the only source of water for drinking, irrigation and basic needs. Now due to indiscriminate urbanization and lack of planning the river has become a receptacle of all the untreated domestic and industrial waste coming out of city. In order to preserve the essence of its history the GHMC Andhra Pradesh have proposed and also implementing a huge project of Rs450cr known to be Beautification of MUSI, the concept here is to build a rubber dam across the river musi which is expected to be useful during floods,Is this really helping us…..??

Expressway proves its an expressway!

The PV Narasimha Rao Expressway saw its first accidents in a span of 24 hours, within a month of being thrown open to the public. Traffic police above prepare to tow one of the cars that was involved in the accidents on the expressway as passerby gather around to see the mishap and damage caused. The red car rammed into the divider and lied on the side of the flyover creating a speed break of the oncoming traffic on the accident site.

The Rule Breakers.

Taken from a local newspaper

Hyderabadis are known for throwing traffic rules to the winds. Even before a day passed after the city police imposed restriction on two wheelers on the newly inaugurated PV Narsimha Rao Expressway, the cops manning the entry points allowed a scooterist. The cops have set up barricades at the entry points on either side of the flyover to ensure that only cars and non-goods vehicles use it. But the rule is observed more in breach. This scooterist has entered the flyover from the wrong side, posing threat to his own life and that of other motorists.
